IABM will create impact for members and the industry at IBC 2025 by hosting a curated program of thought leadership. Industry influencers and technology pioneers will engage with a series of content themes that have resonated with IABM’s global community of broadcast media technology vendors and buyers throughout 2025.

At IBC we will be spotlighting 3 broad thought leadership themes to guide conversation and spotlight our members’ success:

1. Business Transformation

How do MediaTech organizations survive and thrive through business transformation? Amid market volatility, evolving consumer behaviors and rapid technology advancements, MediaTech vendors and buyers need to be able to adapt and remain agile. IABM will explore the different aspects of business transformation from product and technology to operations and culture.

Key topics of discussion associated with Business Transformation include:

  • New revenue generation, content monetization, and innovations in ad-tech.
  • Changing business models and new technology adoption.
  • Progress made by sustainability initiatives and roadmaps for future change.
  • Championing diversity, equity, and inclusion; finding the skillsets of the future
  • The power of partnerships.
  • Running an agile business and how to adapt to ongoing geopolitical and macroeconomic challenges.

Democratization is an ongoing process that has created opportunities for a diverse range of end-users beyond traditional broadcast media and entertainment to create video content and publish to a global audience. IABM is leading the way in understanding how this phenomenon influences people, technology and markets. Find out how embracing democratization can open up an expanded addressable market to reach new customers and audiences.

Key topics of discussion associated with Democratization of MediaTech include:

  • Designing products for accessibility and ease of use.
  • Embracing open standards and interoperability.
  • Lowering the total cost of ownership for video supply chains and unlocking an expanded addressable market. The benefits of cloud and SaaS products.

  • Collaborating with the creator economy.
  • Empowering solo operators and lean production teams.

  • Cultivating specialist interest content and niche audiences.

As IP networking and cloud integration are increasingly adopted in broadcast and media supply chains the importance of security in these MediaTech ecosystems could not be more paramount. Redundancy and disaster recovery remain integral to building resilience into media supply chains, while technology vendors must maintain robust procurement and distribution amid changing geopolitical dynamics to ensure a reliable supply chain for their products and services. IABM is championing best practice for safeguarding media content, infrastructure, workflows and data from threats including cyberattacks, unauthorised access, content piracy and vulnerabilities to AI, as well as the precautions taken by media owners and technology vendors to guarantee reliable supply chains for their customers.

  • The threat landscape, what cybersecurity challenges are specific to the broadcast and media sector; what trends are shaping best practice across industries.
  • Regional and sector specific security trends.
  • The risks of deepfakes and synthetic media. Combatting misinformation, impersonation, and other threats. The growing importance of validating provenance and authenticity.
  • Resilience and infrastructure hardening. How should organizations secure physical and virtual assets. Use of zero trust and incident response readiness.
  • Enhancing content protection. Watermarking and encruption, rights management, model security and data integrity.
  • Enhancing content protection. Best practice for redundancy and disaster recovery.
  • Safeguarding media content supply chains.
  • Adapting product supply chains to ensure continuity amid geopolitical volatility.
