IABM Session

Tuesday 29 July 2025

11:40am – 12:20pm: The Live Sports Production Revolution: Scaling Content, Cutting Costs, and Shaping the Future

Live sports production is undergoing a seismic shift. This panel brings together industry leaders at the forefront of the transformation to explore how broadcasters and producers are reimagining workflows in the face of rising demand and shrinking budgets.

Key themes include the ability to produce more sports content at lower price points, the increasing adoption of remote and distributed production models, and the rise of software-defined ecosystems that are reshaping traditional roles and interfaces. As hardware gives way to flexible, scalable, IP-based solutions, new user experiences and production possibilities are emerging.

Attendees will gain insights into how these innovations are not only reducing costs but also enabling a broader range of sports—from grassroots to niche events—to be broadcast with professional quality. The session will also unpack the cultural and operational challenges of shifting to virtualized workflows, and the new skills and mindsets required for production teams.

Speakers: Anna Lockwood, Steve Jones, Ian Stokes, Zali Shepherd and Andy Liell
